Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

SGX is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who treats operations as a software problem. You will keep production healthy while building automation, tooling, and AI‑driven workflows that make our systems predictable and easy to manage.

Key responsibilities

• Own production reliability (SLOs, capacity planning, incident response, post‑mortems) and turn incidents into durable code fixes.
• Build platforms and tooling for easy deployment, observation, and operation: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, observability stacks, and runbooks‑as‑code.
• Apply AI agents across operations for triage, root‑cause analysis, remediation, and change review.
• Design and integrate core services such as messaging (Kafka), orchestration (Kubernetes), and performance‑sensitive infrastructure.
• Partner with product engineers on release readiness, rollout strategy, and production hardening.
• Continuously reduce toil by measuring it, automating it, and raising the standard for maintainability.

Required profile

• 5+ years in SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering with a proven record of replacing manual work with code.
• Strong programming ability in at least one modern language (Go, Python, Kotlin, TypeScript, Rust, etc.) and experience writing production‑grade code.
• Hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform or equivalent), CI/CD, and modern observability (metrics, logs, traces).
• Production experience on a major cloud platform – GCP preferred, AWS acceptable.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and their failure modes.
• Calm, methodical incident‑response style with disciplined follow‑through.
