Smart Manufacturing & Digital Quality Intern

About the role

Givaudan, a global flavour, fragrance and beauty ingredients company, is looking for a university intern to join its Operations Excellence team in Singapore. The project sits at the intersection of Quality by Design (QbD), smart manufacturing and emerging artificial intelligence applications in flavour manufacturing, reporting to the Head of Operations Excellence APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Map and document selected flavour manufacturing processes and help identify critical quality attributes and process parameters
• Review literature and benchmark QbD applications, and support risk assessments on process variability
• Collect, organise and analyse manufacturing and quality data, run exploratory analysis and build dashboards in Excel or Power BI
• Research AI applications for manufacturing and quality, explore predictive analytics use cases and support proof-of-concept studies
• Work with Operations, Quality, R&D and Digital teams, present updates and prepare a final report

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Systems Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field
• Availability for the internship as part of the academic programme

Required skills

• Preferred: familiarity with data analysis in Microsoft Excel
• Advantageous: exposure to Power BI, Minitab, Python or similar tools
• Plus: interest in smart manufacturing, industry 4.0 and AI, and university projects on process improvement or data analysis
