Software Engineer (API) – Payments Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer specialized in API development to join a regulated digital‑assets and payments platform in Singapore. The role focuses on building scalable backend systems that connect banks, exchanges, PSPs and other financial services, leveraging AI‑driven automation to improve reliability and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement reusable API connector frameworks for high‑volume transaction flows.
• Develop secure REST APIs and webhook integrations with robust authentication and encryption.
• Create smart routing logic that optimizes latency, cost, channel health, liquidity and success rates.
• Implement retry, failover and resiliency mechanisms to ensure continuous service.
• Integrate AI‑powered monitoring, alerting and workflow automation tools to enhance engineering productivity.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong background in API integration, distributed systems and troubleshooting.
• Experience working in regulated fintech or payments environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Java with Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python.
• REST API design, JSON handling and webhook implementation.
• API security standards such as OAuth2, JWT, HMAC/RSA signatures.
• Knowledge of API gateways, middleware and monitoring tools.
