Software Engineer – Google Pay Mobile Development

About the role

Google’s software engineers build next‑generation technologies that serve billions of users. The Commerce team is looking for a Software Engineer to create seamless, cross‑platform shopping experiences for Google Pay users, integrating AI and machine‑learning capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a Flutter (Dart) codebase delivering Android and iOS shopping experiences for Google Pay.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX leads to design new user‑facing features and work with partner teams such as Google Shopping and AR/ML.
• Design, implement, and iterate on Large Language Model (LLM) prompts and AI infrastructure to enhance conversational AI styling.
• Conduct operational and qualitative evaluations of conversational AI and generative image/video outputs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience in languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and Android application development.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Preferred: Experience with accessible technologies, back‑end languages (Go, Rust, Java) and machine‑learning model development (Python).
