Software Engineer (HPB)

About the role

GovTech is looking for a talented Software Engineer to develop and maintain innovative software solutions that improve government services and enhance citizens' lives. You will work in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment to design, implement, and test high‑quality applications for public sector agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement software applications using various programming languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues promptly.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team.
• Engage in agile development activities such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of government technology landscape and public sector challenges is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java, Python, C++ or JavaScript.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
