Software Engineer

About the role

PayPal is hiring a Software Engineer in Singapore. The role implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), follows internal conventions and procedures, makes technical decisions, collaborates with peers and project leads, and contributes to code and design reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Implement tasks within the SDLC under the guidance of more experienced staff
• Follow established internal conventions and standard procedures
• Apply internal standards and processes to make technical decisions
• Collaborate with peers, manager and project lead to understand tasks and review solutions
• Contribute to code and design reviews

Required profile

• 1+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor or above in Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Required skills

• Solid Java programming skills
• Familiarity with Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
• Good knowledge of popular Java frameworks including Spring
• Preferred: experience designing and implementing financial systems such as core banking, back-end payment hubs, financial reconciliation and reporting in a highly regulated financial services industry
