Software Engineer – Real Time Payments

About the role

Mastercard is building the next generation of instant, account‑to‑account payment services. As a Software Engineer on the Real‑Time Payments (RTP) team you will create and maintain mission‑critical components that enable secure, low‑latency transactions across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy small to medium‑sized features following reference architectures.
• Apply approved architectural patterns such as microservices, event‑driven messaging and APIs.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code and produce accompanying unit and component tests.
• Participate in code reviews, identify defects, performance issues and reliability gaps.
• Implement logging, metrics and basic alerts to ensure observability and supportability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end functionality, including documentation.
