Software Engineer, Simulation Platform
Griffin Labs · Singapour
Job description
About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to own and evolve our Simulation Platform, the core infrastructure that enables large‑scale robot simulation across the company. You will build the orchestration, APIs, and tooling that let autonomy, reinforcement‑learning, and perception teams launch thousands of simulation runs, generate synthetic training data, and trust the outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a scalable job orchestration and scheduling system for cloud and GPU resources.
- Create APIs, SDKs, and developer tools that allow teams to define, launch, and reproduce simulation experiments.
- Develop a data engine to capture, version, and serve synthetic datasets (RGB‑D, segmentation, proprioception, contact, etc.).
- Establish benchmarking, regression, and CI pipelines to automatically evaluate model and environment changes.
- Ensure reproducibility through deterministic runs, asset versioning, experiment tracking, and reliable replay.
- Optimize throughput and cost by improving parallelization, batching, GPU utilization, and caching.
- Integrate with simulation stacks such as Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, MuJoCo, or Gazebo behind clean abstractions.
- Collaborate with simulation, RL, and deployment engineers to close the sim‑to‑real loop with better metrics and observability.
Required profile
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with a proven record of shipping production systems.
- Experience in distributed systems, backend services, cloud platforms, or large‑scale batch compute infrastructure.
- Ability to design robust, reproducible, and debuggable systems under real‑world constraints.
- Comfort with owning messy, cross‑functional problems from architecture through execution.
- High agency, strong judgment, and a bias toward building.
Required skills
- Python
- Go
- C++
- Distributed systems
- Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- GPU infrastructure and scheduling
- Data pipelines and job orchestration
- API and SDK development
- Simulation stacks (NVIDIA Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab, MuJoCo, Gazebo)
