Software Engineer (System) – Contract (East, Singapore)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer (System) to design, develop and maintain enterprise applications for our East Singapore operations. The role covers the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to production support, and involves close collaboration with both technical and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business and system requirements.
• Design, develop, maintain and enhance enterprise software applications.
• Prepare SDLC documentation, including requirements, architecture, design, testing and operational documents.
• Provide application support and troubleshoot system issues.
• Liaise with users and stakeholders on requirements, design and testing.
• Collaborate with back‑office development teams to deliver high‑volume, performance‑intensive solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in Java/JEE, Spring/Spring Boot, web applications, JDBC and SQL.
• Full‑cycle SDLC experience, including design, development, testing and documentation.
• Experience with Agile, CI/CD, microservices, containerisation and software modernisation.
• Knowledge of message queues, cloud platforms, Kubernetes and Docker; AWS experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in database design, development and performance tuning.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
