Sourcing Experienced Professional – Buying & Procurement

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking a seasoned sourcing professional to lead buying and procurement activities that support regional sourcing strategies and strengthen supply‑chain foundations. You will act as a critical bridge between internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring efficient purchasing and compliance with the company’s supply‑chain policies.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Global Category Team to define sourcing strategies, select and onboard suppliers, and negotiate contracts that drive cost reductions.
• Manage supplier performance across delivery, quality, cost, and inventory while fostering long‑term relationships.
• Execute end‑to‑end procurement processes, including purchase order issuance, MRP exception handling, logistics coordination, and accurate goods receipt in ERP systems.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Engineering, Planning, Finance, Warehouse, and Customer Service to resolve performance issues and align material requirements.
• Lead cost‑negotiation initiatives focused on product cost reduction and total cost optimization, delivering measurable savings.
• Ensure all procurement actions comply with the Code of Conduct, trade‑compliance regulations, internal policies, and HSE standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing or oil & gas.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organization and time‑management abilities.
• Technical knowledge of CNC machining of completion tools and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Solid understanding of modern purchasing practices and procedures.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP and Ariba procurement systems.
• Professional certification such as CIPS or CSCP.
• Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
