Special Educational Needs Mentor

About the role

New Life Student Care is seeking a passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Mentor to support primary‑age children (7‑12) with diverse learning needs across its island‑wide centres. You will design and deliver targeted interventions, develop Individual Learning Plans, and collaborate closely with families and educators.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct structured intervention sessions covering learning readiness, executive functioning, behaviour regulation, social‑emotional development and academic growth.
• Observe, assess and document each child’s strengths and developmental needs.
• Develop, review and update Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and monitor progress.
• Build strong partnerships with parents, caregivers, therapists and centre staff to ensure consistent support.
• Support the rollout of the Learning Support Programme across centres, creating and adapting resources.
• Mentor junior SEN mentors and model inclusive teaching practices.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Special Education, Psychology, Child Development, Educational Psychology or related field; SEN certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children aged 7‑12 with special educational needs in a group setting.
• Experience developing intervention plans, ILPs and monitoring student progress.
• Background in student care, learning support, SPED or early‑intervention environments.
