Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About the role

This role is part of the Strategic Sourcing function supporting the Medtronic Operations (MSO) manufacturing organization in Singapore. The team manages suppliers, runs strategic sourcing, mitigates risk and ensures supply continuity so that production stays stable. The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist develops and executes sourcing strategies, manages supplier relationships and supports supply continuity, working with cross-functional teams to optimise supplier performance, negotiate commercial agreements and improve cost, quality, delivery and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and commodity management projects across cross-functional teams.
• Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies supporting quality, supply continuity, technology advancement, risk reduction and total cost.
• Manage supplier relationships so they meet quality, delivery, service and business requirements.
• Identify, assess and mitigate supply chain risks that could affect manufacturing operations.
• Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing and commercial terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions for supply, quality or service issues.
• Drive process, system and sourcing improvements that reduce total cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality and supply chain stakeholders on strategic business initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Project Management, Engineering or Supplier Quality Engineering.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and sourcing in a manufacturing or operations environment.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders.
• Experience negotiating supplier agreements, contracts or commercial terms.
• Ability to analyse supply, cost, quality and operational data to support business decisions.

Preferred qualifications

• Medical device, life sciences or other regulated manufacturing experience.
• Supplier quality management, supplier development or supply chain risk management experience.
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing, commodity management and supplier performance management methods.
• Process improvement and cost optimization experience.
