Staff Security Software Engineer (Streaming)

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Staff Security Software Engineer to protect Coupang Play’s streaming services and detect security vulnerabilities. As the security domain expert, you will design and implement secure software solutions, write production‑grade code, and embed security controls across our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead security initiatives and continuously improve the security posture of critical assets and data.
• Develop and maintain security‑focused libraries, tools, and automation scripts for enforcing standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to apply secure‑by‑design principles in code, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Conduct code reviews, threat modeling, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
• Act as the lead responder for security incidents, performing forensic analysis and investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong software engineering background with experience building secure applications and services.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for articulating security risks.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, Bash, Go or Java.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Cryptography, PKI, secure authentication protocols, authN/authZ in microservices.
• Network security: firewalls, VPNs, WAFs, micro‑segmentation.
• Security tooling integration into CI/CD pipelines, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, threat modeling.
