Student Counsellor – University Wellbeing

About the role

The University Counselling Centre at NTU is looking for a qualified Counsellor to provide professional mental‑health support to undergraduate and graduate students. You will deliver assessments, interventions and training initiatives while working closely with internal and external partners to foster a campus‑wide approach to wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk and needs assessments and deliver counselling interventions in‑person or online.
• Prepare assessment reports, present cases and refer students to appropriate social‑service organisations.
• Escalate and co‑manage crisis cases with senior mental‑health practitioners.
• Provide consultation to staff regarding at‑risk students.
• Design, develop and facilitate annual wellbeing training programmes.
• Maintain professional, legal and ethical standards, ensuring client consent, confidentiality and data‑privacy compliance.
• Document clinical records and perform data collection and analysis to improve student mental‑health support.
• Collaborate with schools, residence halls, support teams and external professionals to manage complex or severe mental‑health cases.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in counselling, psychology or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct assessments, formulate cases and deliver evidence‑based interventions.
• Experience handling sensitive crisis situations and working in interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong ethical judgment and commitment to confidentiality and data‑privacy standards.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and training delivery.
