Supplier Engineer

About the role

The Supplier Engineer will support New Product Development and supplier integration for Applied Materials in Singapore, ensuring engineering drawing integrity and effective communication with suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Work with New Product Development teams to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and communicate expectations to suppliers.
• Interact with New Product Introduction teams to involve suppliers in the development and review of specifications for design for manufacturability.
• Use project management skills and quality tools to investigate alternate manufacturing processes for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability.
• Participate continuously in the Supplier Selection Process to build a supply base that delivers competitive advantage in quality, cost, delivery, and technology.
• Assist in supplier technical audits, evaluate performance and capability, and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
• Support quality problem resolution and incident management, driving root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Evaluate technical requirements of new and existing products and recommend materials to Design Engineering for savings, lead‑time reduction, and risk mitigation.
• Perform supplier production assessments to ensure serial production readiness for transferred and new modules.
