Supplier Engineer (Plating)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Supplier Engineer (Plating) in Singapore. The role covers suppliers for anodization, electropolishing, plating, cleaning and coating processes, working closely with suppliers to define process windows and ensure quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, qualify and manage suppliers for anodization, electropolishing, plating, cleaning and coating processes.
• Lead quality problem resolution, troubleshooting and incident management, driving root cause analysis, corrective actions and prevention of recurrence.
• Lead supplier technical audits, evaluate supplier performance and capability, and drive continuous improvement at suppliers.
• Communicate technical requirements and expectations clearly to suppliers.
• Collaborate with suppliers to design and run design of experiments (DOEs) to define process windows, characterize new requirements and evaluate chemistries and technologies.
• Analyze test data to establish process specifications and generate technical reports for internal and external teams.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Material Science.
• Experience in plating, anodizing, electropolishing, cleaning or coating processes is advantageous.
• Experience in supplier quality management is advantageous.

• Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of plating, anodizing, electropolishing, cleaning and coating processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication and supplier management skills.
• Ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk and complexity.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and manage multiple priorities.
