Support Engineer – Windows Machine Software

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Support Engineer to maintain, test, integrate and improve Windows‑based machine software for industrial automation applications. The role involves supporting deployed systems, implementing customer‑driven enhancements, and developing new features for multi‑axis motion control and vision‑based processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance existing Windows‑based machine software.
• Develop new features and machine functions according to customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including setup, configuration, commissioning and validation.
• Design and integrate motion‑control functions for 3–5 axis Cartesian systems.
• Implement coordinated motion sequences, process control logic and optimise cycle time.
• Integrate communication protocols (RS232/RS485, TCP/IP, Modbus, EtherCAT, CAN, Profinet, Ethernet/IP) and interface with sensors, PLCs, vision and dispensing systems.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and software teams for machine bring‑up, debugging and acceptance activities.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and technical reviews.

Required profile

• Junior‑level professional with strong C# and .NET programming skills.
• Experience in multi‑threading, event‑driven architecture and object‑oriented design.
• Good understanding of industrial communication standards and hardware integration.
• Knowledge of motion‑control concepts such as servo/stepper systems, positioning, homing and interlocks.
• Familiarity with machine safety logic, process control and state‑machine sequencing.
• Basic electrical and electronics knowledge, including reading schematics and I/O wiring.
