System Architect (Finastra Global PAYplus)

About the role

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced System Architect to lead solution design, support development and integration activities, and provide Level 3 application support for critical payment systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with Finastra GPP, payment processing systems and payment system integration, and will work closely with business users, project teams, and vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable payment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead solution design, support development and integration activities for Finastra Global PAYplus as part of a payment transformation initiative.
• Provide Level 3 application support for critical payment systems.
• Coordinate daily integration builds between GPP, core banking ledger systems, sanctions screening software, and anti‑fraud filters.
• Validate technical design documents, database changes, and integration code generated by developers or system vendors.
• Review and approve emergency technical workarounds and standard code adjustments to prevent downtime during active business settlement hours.
• Act as the technical focal point between internal engineering leads, vendors, and platform integration partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in solution design, application architecture or system integration within banking or financial services.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with Finastra Global PAYplus (GPP) covering implementation, enhancement, upgrade, migration or production support.
• Strong understanding of payment systems (domestic, cross‑border, RTGS, real‑time payments) and ISO 20022 / SWIFT messaging standards.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues, perform root‑cause analysis and provide Level 3 production support for business‑critical applications.
