Technical Account Manager - APAC
primer.io · Singapore
Job description
About the role
Primer is the unified infrastructure for global payments, giving finance and payments teams visibility and control from a single platform. As a Technical Account Manager for APAC, you will be the technical escalation point for key merchants, proactively monitoring their integrations and payment performance, and acting as a trusted technical peer to their engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor merchant integration and payment performance (authorisation rates, network tokenisation coverage, routing configuration) and recommend routing, NT and config changes with an economic case.
- Debug complex technical issues such as failures, SDK conflicts and webhook gaps using logs, traces and API behaviour, looping in engineering only when genuinely needed.
- Act as escalated contact during incidents affecting key merchants, deliver root cause analyses and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Lead technical deep-dives and solution design sessions when merchants adopt a new PSP connector, payment method or unreleased product, and manage expectations during rollout.
- Run recurring technical integration reviews (e.g. quarterly) with each merchant's engineering or payments stakeholders.
- Translate changes in card scheme rules or regional regulation (e.g. BNPL rules, PCI requirements) into a concrete technical plan for each affected merchant.
Required profile
- Experience in a technical, merchant-facing role such as Technical Account Manager, Solutions Engineer, Support Engineer, Customer Success Manager (technical focus) or Implementation Specialist in payments, fintech or e-commerce.
- Direct experience with payments infrastructure such as network tokenisation, PSP connectors/routing or card scheme mechanics.
- Design-partner support experience, e.g. beta or early-access product rollouts.
- Comfortable presenting technical material to senior technical stakeholders at enterprise merchants and coordinating across engineering, product and support teams.
Required skills
- Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks and SDKs, able to explain technical flows to engineers and non-engineers.
- Hands-on technical ability: reading API logs and traces, debugging integrations, and writing basic scripts and SQL.
What we offer
- Fully remote, globally distributed work.
- Competitive share options and flexible holidays (25 days minimum).
- Co-working space access, workations and company retreat.
- £500 towards a home office setup and a generous learning budget.
- Private medical insurance and additional location-dependent perks.
