Technical Associate – Customer Service

About the role

The Technical Associate (Customer Service) provides on‑site installation, commissioning and field support for machining centres and EDM machines. You will work directly with customers, both locally and overseas, ensuring machines operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission complex machining centres and EDM machines at customer sites.
• Provide pre‑installation assistance, post‑installation checks, and ongoing field service support.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, handling both scheduled and unscheduled service calls.
• Prepare detailed service reports, document defective parts, and ensure tools are calibrated to Makino standards.
• Educate customers on basic maintenance and technical support of machine tools.
• Maintain safety compliance, update activity logs, and support other field engineers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for engineering.
• Willingness to travel overseas occasionally.
