Technical Operations Manager

About the role

The Technical Operations Manager will lead a dedicated technical operations team to meet departmental objectives for quality, productivity, cost, and safety. Reporting within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s manufacturing environment, the role ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and drives continuous improvement across all technical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight, coaching and development plans for the technical operations team.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional groups to set priorities and align resources.
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) support, cleaning process development, qualification, and re‑qualification activities.
• Manage change controls, cleaning validations, and process performance trending.
• Own and drive complex quality investigations and act as change owner.
• Serve as technical approver for investigations, validation protocols, risk assessments, and related documentation.
• Ensure systematic problem identification, visibility of results, and scientific issue resolution.
