Technical Support Engineer (TSE) MDP

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) MDP is responsible for all technical support activities for a designated customer, including escalations, fleet performance, system installations, and improvement programs. The role acts as the primary field escalation point between the customer and Applied Materials divisions, providing documentation and guidance to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical support aspects such as escalations, fleet performance, system installations, upgrades, and improvement programs for a specific customer.
• Serve as the intermediary and field escalation focal point, delivering technical support and documentation to field engineers and technicians.
• Provide Alpha Site support for engineering installations, calibrations, and testing of new hardware, processes, or software.
• Deliver Beta Site support for customer tool installations, calibrations, service, and testing of new hardware, software, or processes.
• Generate and present system performance data, including MTBF, MTBI, availability, and cost analysis, and create documentation for technical improvements and support plans.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in technical support disciplines and basic knowledge of related areas.
• Understands best practices, market competition, and how the role integrates with other functions.
• Leads small projects, mentors less‑experienced colleagues, and solves complex problems using multiple information sources.
• Communicates sensitive information clearly, builds consensus, and influences customer and internal teams.
