Technology Financial & Vendor Management Manager

About the role

This role manages strategic technology vendor management across the Technology organisation, covering vendor governance, commercial oversight, service performance and value realisation. It works closely with Technology, Procurement, Legal, Finance and business stakeholders to strengthen vendor delivery, monitor service outcomes and manage commercial obligations, and ensures technology cost transparency through TCO and Cost-to-Business frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Govern the end-to-end lifecycle of IT professional services and managed services contracts, including renewals, change requests, scope alignment, compliance tracking and stakeholder approvals.
• Serve as relationship owner for key technology vendors, leading strategic engagements, governance forums and executive-level discussions.
• Oversee vendor performance against contractual obligations, service levels, deliverables, resource commitments and commercial terms, defining performance metrics, SLAs and reporting requirements.
• Work with vendors on regular performance reporting, service reviews and management dashboards to track SLA achievement, quality, risks and remediation.
• Maintain oversight of vendor spend, contract utilisation and resource deployment to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Influence vendor roadmaps, resource planning and service enhancements to maximise value from technology partnerships.
• Implement and maintain the Total Cost of Ownership framework for the PACS technology landscape, covering cost identification, categorisation, forecasting and attribution.
• Analyse technology spend and application portfolios to identify cost optimisation opportunities and support cost-reduction initiatives.
• Develop and refine the Cost-to-Business framework by mapping applications to business functions and validating ownership and usage.
• Support PACS in managing Group Technology budget and spend requests, including data gathering, analysis, reconciliation, response preparation and stakeholder coordination.

Required profile

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Technology Portfolio Management, Vendor Management, Technology Financial Management, IT Finance, IT Strategy or a related technology governance function.
• Proven experience managing strategic vendor relationships across IT Professional Services, Managed Services, System Integrators and Technology Service Providers.
• Experience leading vendor governance forums, executive business reviews, service reviews and performance management discussions.
• Bachelor's degree (Business, Finance, IT or equivalent); insurance, IT and/or project management certifications highly desirable.

• Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse technology costs, vendor spend and resource consumption.
• Ability to interpret large datasets and develop actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Experience presenting financial, operational and vendor performance insights to senior management.
• Negotiation and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
