Technology Planning Engineer

About the role

The Technology Planning Engineer will be based at Huawei Singapore Research Centre and will support the consumer business hardware engineering planning department. Working closely with the local and regional teams, the role focuses on scouting emerging technologies across the APAC region and maintaining a knowledge platform for stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technology scouting and landscape analysis in the APAC region, producing insight reports on national strategies, university research, conferences and startups.
• Manage and update the APAC technology resources platform, acting as the primary contact for regional and HQ colleagues.
• Collect, review, publish, and follow up on technology information, ensuring timely online availability and monthly status reviews.
• Collaborate with APAC teams on projects, initiatives, events and other activities.
• Communicate directly with English‑ and Chinese‑speaking officers, stakeholders, and partners, including the China headquarters and international partners.
• Support ad‑hoc tasks as required, including occasional business travel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical/electronics, material engineering, computing or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in a technology‑related role.
• Strong analytical ability and clear articulation of technology insights.
• Passion for new technologies and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
• Professional, responsible and a good team player.
