Therapeutic Care Worker – Youth Mentor

About the role

The Therapeutic Care Worker (Youth Mentor) provides trauma‑informed care and supervision to female adolescents who have experienced abuse or neglect. Working in a residential treatment centre, you will help meet their physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational and social needs while promoting wellness and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily operational duties and supervise residents in regular activities.
• Assist residents with day‑to‑day issues and ensure their welfare and safety.
• Promote discipline and act as a mentor/role model for the youths.
• Assess, respond to and manage crises or conflicts.
• Deliver individual therapeutic interventions according to care plans.
• Contribute to meeting physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational and social needs of residents.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 21 years as required by the licensing agency.
• Willingness to work 3‑shift rotations, including weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to work with female adolescents who have experienced abuse or neglect.
• Minimum GCE ‘N’ Level or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working with at‑risk youth.
• Basic counselling and processing skills.
• Knowledge of common trauma‑related issues and disorders.
