Trade Operations Analyst (Imports-DBRP) – IBG Operations

About the role

Group Operations manages the majority of the bank's operational processes and delivers banking services across multiple channels. This Associate/Analyst position in Trade Operations (Imports-DBRP) within IBG Operations handles daily trade transactions for Singapore and Australia, working under the Group COO.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily Trade Operations transactions for Singapore and Australia in line with agreed service standards.
• Liaise with business units or customers for instructions needed to complete each transaction.
• Follow up with internal and external counterparties on transaction queries.
• Perform day-end reconciliation of transactions.
• Adhere to risk and control guidelines and policies.
• Assist in projects to improve work processes and perform ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Supervising Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in banking operations, especially imports - direct bills receivable purchase (DBRP).
• Functional knowledge or experience in back-office support for post-shipment financing and payable invoice financing is essential.
• Ability to work with urgency to meet currency cutoff times and customer SLAs with zero error rate, and to cope with a variable workload depending on customer payment volumes.
• Teamwork, dependability, strong risk and controls mindset, and meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
• Speed and accuracy in processing transactions and manual repairs and inputs.

The role may involve extended hours, including weekends, post-holiday and month-end weeks, and on Singapore public holidays when volume surges. It is based at DBS Asia Gateway and is a regular, full-time position.
