Trade Operator – Energy Trading

About the role

The company is a global energy trading firm seeking an experienced Trade Operator for its Singapore office. You will manage the end‑to‑end operational execution of cargo trades, ensuring smooth coordination among traders, chartering teams, terminals, inspectors and counterparties.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full operational lifecycle of cargo trades from confirmation to delivery and settlement.
• Coordinate with traders, chartering, vessel operators, terminals, agents and inspectors to ensure seamless cargo execution.
• Handle vessel nominations, scheduling and monitor loading/discharge operations against contractual timelines.
• Prepare, review and manage shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading, certificates of quantity/quality and cargo manifests.
• Monitor vessel movements, enforce laytime provisions and resolve demurrage, cargo claims and other operational discrepancies.
• Liaise with internal trading, risk and finance teams to ensure accurate documentation and timely settlement.

Required profile

• Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Supply Chain, Business or related field.
• 3‑5 years of cargo operations experience in oil trading, major oil companies or commodity trading.
• Proven track record managing international cargo movements and marine logistics.
• Experience with petrochemicals or refined products is a plus.
