Trading Desk Software Designer

About the role

Randstad Singapore is recruiting, on behalf of an established global investment bank and financial services firm, a Trading Desk Software Designer. The firm provides advanced market execution and electronic trading solutions across international markets. The role offers direct front-office visibility, working alongside traders daily, and end-to-end ownership of product delivery, from gathering trader requirements through automated testing, CI/CD and live releases.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise high-performance software and execution algorithms for automated trading.
• Develop trading strategies with a focus on clean software architecture and object-oriented design patterns.
• Implement robust socket-level networking protocols and manage complex multi-threaded concurrency.
• Support, maintain and enhance client-facing, low-latency electronic trading platforms.
• Integrate and optimise market connectivity tailored to Asian financial market exchanges.
• Work closely with front-office desks to deliver algorithmic solutions across diverse asset classes.

Required profile

• 8 to 10 years of hands-on software development experience with core C / C++.
• Proven background in algorithmic trading development, specifically in equities and derivatives; Fixed Income and Currencies / Rates is a plus.
• Prior experience designing and operating low-latency trading infrastructure and market connectivity.
• Solid understanding of Asian electronic market structures and trading dynamics.
• Familiarity with Windows-based enterprise development environments.

Required skills

• Core C / C++ and strong socket programming and multi-threading.
• Object-oriented design and concurrent programming.
• Preferred: Java, Python, PL/SQL, C#, Avaloq, exchange connectivity.
