Validation & Verification Engineer (ATM)

About the role

Sopra Steria is hiring a Validation & Verification Engineer in Air Traffic Management (ATM) in Singapore, working for a client that is a global leader in aerospace, defence and digital security technologies. The role supports the NexGen ATMS Program, which upgrades the operational system, within the Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) business of the Land and Air Systems Global Business Unit. You will join an international multidisciplinary team focused on verifying and validating the ATM solution against its functional baseline and operational concepts.

Key responsibilities

• Verify the solution's compliance with the Functional Baseline and validate its fitness for purpose according to Operational Concepts
• Take part in System Requirement Analysis, make requirements testable and assign a verification method and phase, documented in the Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM)
• Take part in PI planning and backlog refinement, including effort estimation
• Carry out verification and validation tests at Thales' premises, supplier premises and/or customer premises, including acceptance V&V with the customer
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, attend requirement workshops, test procedure and readiness reviews, and report progress against plan and budget
• Record test results in the Test Management System and defects in the Defect Management System, track defect corrections and regression testing, and contribute to the Defect CCB
• Maintain and update test procedures, produce Test Procedure Books and Test Reports, and support squad members, the Product Owner and the Scrum Master
• Identify risks early, propose mitigations, and help develop policies, processes and procedures for V&V activities
• Lead technical working groups, mentor V&V personnel and contribute to succession plans, and estimate engineering effort for baseline modifications

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
• 5+ years of test engineering / test analyst experience on large, complex, real-time software systems
• Experience designing and running ATM verification and validation scenarios, and knowledge of ATM standards such as ICAO, Eurocontrol and AID
• Proven ability to review V&V artefacts, analyse problems and work in a multi-disciplinary team
• English written and spoken; French literacy desirable
• Eligibility for Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs security clearance (CAT 2)

• Desirable: Air Traffic Management operations experience
• Desirable: System engineering tools such as Polarion, DOORS and Jira
• Desirable: V&V tools such as Vivaldi and Jira, SAFe experience, ISTQB certification, Advanced Test Analyst CTAL-TA certification
