Valuation Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced valuation actuary to lead the valuation of an assigned portfolio under the Singapore RBC2 framework. This position combines hands‑on technical work with people‑management responsibilities, reporting to senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk and actuarial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own valuation and financial reporting for an assigned RBC2 portfolio.
• Review valuation results, investigate movements and explain key drivers to management.
• Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual valuation reports on time.
• Review reserving assumptions, support assumption reviews and maintain high‑quality valuation models and documentation.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities for valuation processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Product and external auditors on valuation and reporting matters.
• Support regulatory reporting and assess impacts of changes to valuation requirements.
• Lead, coach and develop a small team of actuarial analysts, providing technical guidance and reviewing deliverables.
• Prioritise team workload and drive continuous improvement of valuation processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative discipline.
• 7‑10 years of actuarial experience in life‑insurance valuation.
• Strong working knowledge of the Singapore RBC2 framework.
• Experience with actuarial modelling systems such as Prophet (or similar) is preferred.
• Progress towards actuarial qualification or already qualified.
• Previous experience reviewing work or mentoring junior actuaries is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical ability and clear communication of technical results.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with multiple business stakeholders.
