Visiting Professor – Maritime Studies

About the role

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University invites an outstanding scholar to join as a Visiting Professor in Maritime Studies. The appointee will strengthen CEE’s research and teaching agenda in maritime economics, policy, shipping management, and digital sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules: MT2002 Shipping Economics, MT4001 Shipping Logistics, MT4003 Maritime Strategy.
• Deliver the MPA Professorship Public Lecture and run seminars for research students and industry practitioners.
• Collaborate with CEE faculty on joint publications, conference presentations, and research proposals in port competitiveness, maritime digitalisation, and decarbonisation.
• Mentor postgraduate research students on research design, methodology, and academic publishing.
• Engage with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and the School’s Management Committee to align curriculum with industry trends and develop joint initiatives.

Required profile

• Established academic record in maritime studies, economics, policy, or shipping management.
• Demonstrated research excellence and experience publishing in reputable journals.
• Proven teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Ability to foster collaborations with industry and government bodies.
