VP, Lending Platform Technology Lead

About the role

DBS is looking for a highly experienced, hands-on technology leader to provide end-to-end technology leadership for its Lending platforms, covering engineering strategy, architecture, modernisation, delivery and operational resilience. The role spans Credit Origination, Credit Processing, Loan Servicing and Lending ecosystem platforms supporting both the Institutional Banking Group and Consumer Banking Group, based at the DBS Asia Hub.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development and delivery of the strategic Lending platform, engaging at source-code, application-design and solution-architecture levels when needed.
• Define platform technology strategy and engineering roadmaps aligned to IBGT and business objectives, and work with business, operations, credit risk and product teams on future-state lending capabilities.
• Drive platform modernisation using cloud-native technologies, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures and enterprise integration patterns, ensuring scalability, resilience, security, maintainability and performance.
• Ensure compliance with technology risk, cyber security, regulatory and data governance requirements, and simplify credit origination and servicing journeys.
• Lead the design and implementation of GenAI and Agentic AI solutions, partner with teams on high-value AI use cases and drive adoption of LLM platforms, RAG, AI agents and intelligent workflow orchestration.
• Build an engineering culture of accountability, innovation and collaboration, and attract, recruit and retain technology professionals.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of technology experience, with substantial hands-on software engineering and application development.
• Proven track record leading software development teams and engineering organisations in banking or financial services, with experience as both developer and developer lead on enterprise-scale systems.
• Experience delivering large-scale mission-critical platforms supporting customer-facing or operational banking functions.
• Strong understanding of banking technology controls, risk management, cybersecurity and regulatory expectations.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Enterprise application architecture and solution design, with the ability to review source code in detail.
• Java, Spring Boot, microservices and API development.
• Event-driven architectures, Kafka, messaging platforms and enterprise integration patterns.
• Cloud-native platforms, containers, OpenShift or equivalent.
• Databases, data architecture and distributed systems.
• DevSecOps, CI/CD, test automation and modern software engineering practices.
• Preferred: experience delivering AI-enabled solutions with Generative AI and Agentic AI exposure.
