Wet Equipment Engineer

About the role

STMicroelectronics is seeking a Wet Equipment Engineer to own and optimise wet‑process tools in its semiconductor fab. You will drive equipment start‑up, reliability, and cost‑per‑wafer improvements while supporting production and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage new wet‑equipment start‑up, coordinate with vendors and certify equipment for production.
• Provide technical support and expertise to Assistant Maintenance Engineers and Technicians.
• Develop and maintain corrective‑maintenance (CM) procedures and troubleshooting guides.
• Design preventive‑maintenance (PM) programmes to maximise equipment uptime without compromising quality.
• Train maintenance staff on equipment operation, troubleshooting and best practices.
• Define critical spares and consumables inventory levels to minimise recovery time.
• Translate production and engineering requirements into maintenance tasks and monitor key performance indicators.
• Participate in cost‑reduction projects and generate equipment downtime Pareto reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 1‑3 years of experience with wet‑process equipment such as spray‑solvent tools, wet benches and drying mechanisms.
• Ability to read and analyse electrical schematics and block diagrams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Required skills

• Wet‑process equipment operation (spray‑solvent tool, wet bench modular tanks, drying mechanisms).
• Electrical schematic and block‑diagram interpretation.
• Statistical analysis tools, FMEA and 8‑D methodology.
• PLC programming (advantage).
