Workplace Safety & Health Officer (Construction)

About the role

The Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) will lead the implementation and maintenance of safety policies across our construction sites, ensuring compliance with Singapore's WSH Act and project requirements. You will work closely with project teams to foster a strong safety culture and protect all personnel on site.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain company Workplace Safety and Health policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify unsafe acts, conditions and hazards.
• Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, relevant regulations and project specifications.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and induction programmes for workers.
• Prepare and review risk assessments, safe work procedures and method statements.
• Monitor high‑risk activities such as bored piling, lifting operations and heavy‑machinery use.
• Enforce proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on site.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses, producing reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records, permits, certificates, training logs and inspection checklists.
• Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors and relevant authorities, including MOM.
• Conduct emergency drills and ensure response procedures are effective.

Required profile

• Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM.
• Relevant WSH qualification recognised by MOM.
• Preferably experienced in construction or foundation/bored piling projects.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Effective communication skills with workers, supervisors, subcontractors and clients.
• Responsible, observant and willing to work at various project sites.
