Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) – Construction

About the role

Our client, a leading main contractor in Singapore, is looking for a proactive Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) to lead safety initiatives across multiple building and construction sites. The role involves ensuring compliance with Ministry of Manpower (MOM) regulations, driving a strong safety culture, and protecting the wellbeing of all site personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) policies and procedures on all active construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and hazard identification to ensure compliance with MOM and WSH regulations.
• Prepare and maintain WSH documentation, including Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures and Permit‑to‑Work records.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inductions for workers and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, subcontractors and relevant authorities on safety matters.
• Promote safe work practices and foster a positive safety culture on site.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of construction site safety experience in Singapore.
• Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) recognised by MOM.
• Valid Work‑at‑Height Course for Supervisors certification.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage site safety effectively.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
