Workshop Technician

About the role

The Workshop Technician is responsible for disassembling, cleaning, assembling and testing vacuum pumps to meet quality standards and production schedules. The role supports material handling, participates in continuous improvement activities and ensures a safe, clean workshop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, re‑assemble and test vacuum pumps according to company quality standards.
• Meet production targets for productivity, volume and efficiency.
• Reduce rejects and ensure quick turnaround by liaising with other departments and stores.
• Assist the materials store and local logistics as needed.
• Participate in Kaizen and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain health and safety documentation and uphold the company’s H&S policy.
• Keep the workshop clean, safe and well‑managed on a daily basis.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience servicing electro‑mechanical systems, including single‑ and three‑phase motors, solenoids and contactors.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment used in pumping or vacuum applications.
• Ability to identify faults, assemble components and test equipment performance.
• PC literate and able to use Windows‑based software.
