Accountant (1 Year Contract, Part-Time) - Biopharma MNC

About the role

A well-established multinational biopharmaceutical organisation with operations across the Asia-Pacific region is looking for an experienced accountant to provide hands-on finance support during a period of increased business activity and ongoing transformation initiatives. This is a 12-month part-time contract (3 days per week) with potential for extension, advertised by a recruitment consultant.

Key responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, including journal preparation and account reconciliations
• Handle accounts for Singapore, China and Malaysia
• Prepare financial reports, schedules and variance analysis for management reporting
• Assist with accruals, intercompany transactions, general ledger maintenance and other operational finance activities
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls and financial reporting standards
• Support internal and external audits and maintain accurate financial documentation
• Contribute to process improvement, system enhancements and finance projects, and give ad hoc accounting and analytical support to the wider finance team

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• At least 3 years of accounting or finance experience, ideally in a multinational environment
• Sound knowledge of financial accounting, reconciliations and month-end close
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, CA or ACCA are a plus

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems; exposure to SAGE 300 or similar is advantageous
• Advanced Microsoft Excel with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
