Agentic AI Data Scientist

About the role

Kyndryl is hiring an Agentic AI Data Scientist in Singapore. You will help shape the future of advanced agentic AI and work with a team building a next-generation open-source framework that powers autonomous systems. The role sits at the intersection of deep technical work and business transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Shape Kyndryl's transformation as an AI-native company, bridging deep technical work and business change with solutions based on agentic AI.
• Translate business needs into data science problems, then experiment, build and deploy solutions that scale.
• Develop, train and deploy intelligent agents using tools such as Python and Azure ML, focused on dynamic, self-improving systems.
• Co-own a modular, open-source agentic AI framework, including its design, product thinking and customer success, integrating GenAI and real-world tools.
• Mentor researchers and developers from PhD students to business leaders, and publish as an industrial PhD supervisor and co-author of whitepapers.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent research experience in computer science, mathematics, AI or a related field.
• Hands-on agentic AI engineering experience, building or contributing to frameworks rather than just using APIs.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a high-trust, low-hierarchy team.
• Contributions to academic or technical communities and open-source projects.
• Preferred: previous work in digital transformation, AI-native products or enterprise automation, and presence in academic or whitepaper communities.

Required skills

• Strong Python programming and architectural design (e.g. microservice ecosystems, message brokers).
• Preferred: Azure, AWS or Google Cloud ML certifications; graph theory, DevOps or distributed systems experience.
