Agentic AI Engineer, Risk Technology

About the role

DBS is hiring an Associate or Senior Associate Agentic AI Engineer within its Risk Technology team in the Risk Management group, based in DBS Asia Central. The role combines full-stack software development with the design and integration of AI-powered features such as copilots, chatbots and decision-support tools.

Key responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and refine technical and AI-related requirements.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable applications, microservices and APIs.
• Develop and integrate LLM-powered features such as copilots, chatbots and decision-support tools.
• Build backend services in Java, Python and Node.js using modern frameworks such as FastAPI and Spring Boot.
• Perform prompt engineering, context engineering and RAG (retrieval-augmented generation).
• Build and orchestrate AI agents, Agent Harness and multi-agent workflows.
• Integrate LLM APIs and manage vector databases and embeddings for semantic search.
• Build AI evaluation, testing harnesses and guardrails, and design SQL databases and ORM tools (Hibernate/JPA).
• Contribute to full-stack development including UI/UX with JavaScript/TypeScript, and manage the end-to-end SDLC.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps automation, monitoring and scalability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Experience or exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering or AI application development.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex engineering and AI concepts.

Required skills

• Python (strong), with working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Java and Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Spring Boot and backend frameworks.
• RAG, embeddings, vector databases and semantic search; AI agent frameworks such as LangChain.
• SQL, relational databases and ORM tools (Hibernate, JPA); MongoDB is a plus.
• CI/CD, Git, DevOps practices and deployment automation.
