AI & Digital Innovation Senior Associate (Financial Services Assurance)

About the role

PwC's Financial Services Assurance Practice, described as Asia's top financial services practice, is hiring a Senior Associate in its AI & Digital Innovation line of service. The role sits within assurance and focuses on applying AI, automation and process improvement to audit workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze audit workflows to identify and prioritize opportunities for automation, AI enablement and process improvement.
• Collaborate with auditors, risk assurance professionals and business stakeholders to turn audit requirements into scalable AI and automation solutions.
• Design, develop, test and validate AI/ML models using classical machine learning, NLP and generative AI techniques.
• Build AI-enabled tools such as intelligent assistants, workflow automations and knowledge retrieval systems.
• Drive prototyping, deployment and ongoing monitoring of AI solutions, ensuring scalability, robustness and compliance.
• Maintain data preparation processes, integration workflows and scalable data pipelines across audit, finance, risk and enterprise systems.
• Process structured financial data and unstructured documents such as audit workpapers and policies to create reliable data products.
• Prepare documentation and training materials and lead knowledge transfer sessions for audit teams.
• Keep up with AI, automation, cloud and audit technology trends and ensure solutions comply with firm policies, regulations, data privacy standards and responsible AI principles.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI, machine learning, data analytics, generative AI or automation solutions, preferably in financial services, risk assurance, audit or compliance contexts.
• Solid understanding of audit processes, internal controls, risk assessment, financial reporting or regulatory compliance is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and mentor others.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, R, SQL or similar, with production-level software development and data engineering experience.
• Scalable data pipelines, ETL workflows and APIs integrating multiple data sources.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), workflow automation tools (Power Platform, UiPath, Automation Anywhere), generative AI platforms and data visualization tools.
