AI Engineer (Transcribe)

About the role

Assurity Trusted Solutions (ATS), a subsidiary of GovTech, is hiring an AI Engineer for its Transcribe team. Transcribe is a speech-to-text-to-insights platform with a web workspace serving over 5,000 monthly active users and an API that embeds speech-to-text and text analytics into agency systems. The role brings expertise and capability to the public sector, deciding what to build and how to build it.

Key responsibilities

• Build prototypes to demonstrate technology opportunities
• Design system architectures while accounting for security and infrastructure constraints
• Write production-quality code and develop backend and/or frontend applications in a containerised microservices architecture
• Manage deployments to on-premise infrastructure and cloud
• Collaborate with stakeholders so that inputs are aligned and applications are cleared for deployment
• Learn and share knowledge in a multi-disciplinary team; senior engineers are expected to establish best practices and mentor others

Required profile

• Proficiency in backend application development in Python and/or GoLang
• Strong software engineering passion and ability to design and build software, solve abstract problems and communicate clearly about code
• Able to integrate application code with other services such as databases and caches
• Initiative and commitment to public service

Required skills

• Backend development in Python and/or GoLang
• Experience with containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) and deployment on cloud or on-premise production environments preferred
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, cloud computing (AWS), on-premise infrastructure, database administration and Linux/Unix advantageous
• Frontend skills (e.g. React) advantageous
