AI Tech Lead

About the role

NCS is a leading AI tech services company, a subsidiary of the Singtel Group, with a 15,000-strong team across Asia Pacific. Its AI Central unit builds, productises and deploys AI platforms and reusable assets for regulated and mission-critical sectors such as aviation, land transport, public safety, telecommunications and government. This is a high-impact technical leadership role in a startup-style team in Singapore, working with senior leaders to turn client opportunities into AI-powered products, MVPs and new ventures. The role uses AI and AI engineers as a force multiplier across research, design, engineering and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end AI delivery methodology and technical standards, and make technical architecture decisions balancing innovation, scalability, security and business value
• Lead multidisciplinary teams from client problem statement to prototype, MVP or production-ready solution, defining architecture, technology stack and delivery approach
• Build, mentor and grow a team of AI engineers, including onboarding, code and architecture reviews, coaching and upskilling
• Advise client and business leaders on AI strategy, investment priorities and build-versus-buy choices, and shape AI roadmaps with the Chief AI Officer
• Document reusable assets, playbooks and design patterns, and transfer knowledge to regional teams
• Work with sales, product, infrastructure and security teams, and represent NCS's AI capabilities in client engagements and industry forums
• Promote responsible AI principles including fairness, transparency, privacy and governance

Required profile

• Proven technical leader who has led engineering teams to deliver complex AI/ML solutions in production
• Balances hands-on technical contribution with strategic leadership and team development
• Comfortable making sound decisions with incomplete information and thriving in ambiguity
• Combines technical depth with business acumen, product instinct and strong judgement
• Effective communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence senior stakeholders
• Fluent in AI, able to use it daily as a practical multiplier and to judge its limits and risks
