AMHS Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring an AMHS Engineer for its Fab 10N/X site. The engineer supports the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) used in semiconductor manufacturing, working closely with operations, maintenance teams and suppliers to keep material movement safe, reliable and efficient. Supported systems include Overhead Hoist Transport (OHT), stockers, sorters, smart load ports and other factory automation equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and support daily AMHS operations to ensure high system availability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system issues using structured problem-solving methods.
• Support preventive maintenance and recovery activities for AMHS equipment.
• Analyze equipment performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Take part in continuous improvement projects to boost productivity, safety, quality and cost performance.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, SOPs and training materials.
• Work with manufacturing, facilities, IT and equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Support equipment upgrades, new installations and technology deployment projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational standards, and take part in factory support activities including critical events.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality or effectiveness, and share AI-enabled improvements within your scope.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer or Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and willingness to learn automation technologies and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, data analytics or automation through projects, internships or coursework is preferred.
• Experience with AI-assisted tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, data analytics platforms, coding assistants) is an advantage.
• Basic programming, data visualization or data analytics skills (e.g., Python, SQL, Power BI) are an advantage.
• Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron.
