AML/KYC Intern

About the role

IQ-EQ, a global investor services group with expertise in private markets, is looking for an AML/KYC intern. This part-time internship supports the KYC team's daily operations and compliance activities, including investor data maintenance and name screening.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with input and maintenance of investor data to support the ongoing name screening project and keep KYC information accurate.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to support the KYC team's daily operations and compliance activities.
• Organize, maintain and file KYC documents collected from clients and related parties to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Identify potential money laundering, sanctions and politically exposed person (PEP) risks through screening and adverse media checks, escalating findings to supervisors as needed.
• Develop an understanding of financial crime compliance frameworks, including escalation procedures, regulatory obligations and internal KYC standards.

Required profile

• Prior experience in KYC, due diligence or business management is preferred but not essential.
• Proactive, can-do attitude and effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English; a second language is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
