Android Developer

About the role

We are looking for an Android Developer to join Dyson’s mobile app team responsible for the Dyson Link Smart Home app. You will work on a high‑impact product with over a million active users, delivering new features and improvements while maintaining a robust, testable codebase.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to new features and enhancements for the Dyson Link app, ensuring scalability and robustness.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including test engineers, product owners, Scrum Masters, UX/UI designers, and cloud/embedded engineers.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested Kotlin code following modern Android best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and technical discussions.
• Share knowledge within the team and mentor peers.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies, tools, and approaches to improve engineering standards and product quality.

Required profile

• Passion for technology that improves living environments.
• Collaborative mindset, comfortable with Agile principles and empowered teams.
• 2–3 years of experience delivering production Android applications.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android architecture (e.g., MVVM).
• Experience with asynchronous programming (coroutines or similar).
• Understanding of testing importance and experience with unit/UI testing frameworks.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and share knowledge.
