Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will ensure accurate and transparent financial records, focusing on General Ledger activities for a portfolio of properties and entities. This role supports core accounting processes, providing essential data for financial analysis and decision‑making in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily transactions, including journal entries and reconciliations, and collaborate with AR and AP teams.
• Maintain the completeness and accuracy of the General Ledger, preparing month‑end and period‑end closing entries and reviewing trial balances.
• Manage balance‑sheet accounts such as inventory, fixed assets, rental costs, and other operating expenses.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations, monthly accruals, and support the Business Planning & Control team.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, internal controls, and support internal/external audits.
• Produce schedules and reports for financial statements, cost allocations, revenue recognition, and monthly group reporting.
• Utilise ERP and BI tools to improve accuracy and efficiency, and contribute to system enhancement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting or audit.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and internal controls.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
