Assistant Cook

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Cook to support our kitchen operations across Singapore. The role involves assisting the Cook in daily food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all ingredients and equipment are ready for service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with food preparation tasks such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and peeling ingredients.
• Clean and sanitise food preparation areas in line with hygiene and safety standards.
• Wash, disinfect and store kitchen utensils and equipment properly.
• Measure, weigh and store ingredients and food supplies.
• Operate kitchen appliances including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens.
• Manage inventory, unload supplies and organise the storeroom.
• Maintain clean work areas, utensils and equipment throughout the shift.
• Contribute to menu development and improvisation of existing dishes.
• Control kitchen expenses, food costs and staffing within budgetary limits.
• Work flexible shifts and be able to prepare North Indian cuisine.

Required profile

• Professional level experience in a kitchen environment.
• Availability for shift work, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to prepare North Indian food.
• Attention to hygiene and safety standards.

Required skills

• Food preparation techniques (cleaning, cutting, chopping, peeling).
• Operation of kitchen appliances and tools (cutters, knives, mixers, ovens).
• Cleaning and sanitising of kitchen areas.
• Inventory handling and storage of ingredients.
• Basic cost and expense management.
