Assistant Cook – Kitchen Support (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team on a contract basis. You will support chefs and cooks in daily food preparation, ensuring that every dish meets our quality and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking food items according to restaurant recipes.
• Wash, cut, peel, measure, and portion ingredients as required.
• Support chefs in daily kitchen operations and food preparation activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food areas.
• Receive, store, and organize food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
• Monitor ingredient levels and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Help with kitchen opening and closing duties and perform other assigned tasks.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in food preparation or restaurant environments is a plus but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Physically fit to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks.
