Assistant Director (Internal Audit)

About the role

You will join AGD’s Assurance Group, working within the Internal Audit Shared Services Directorate to deliver internal audit and financial services across government ministries. The position supports the Head of Assurance in ensuring robust internal controls and compliance throughout the public sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Assurance in planning and executing audit engagements for ministries.
• Provide reasonable assurance to the Audit Committee on the adequacy of internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
• Prepare audit reports and present findings to senior management.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accountancy.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in internal audit.
• Professional qualifications such as CA or CIA preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset, meticulous, and a collaborative team player.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with management at all levels.
