Assistant Director (Sustainability & Smart Technology), Development Projects

About the role

The Founders' Memorial, set in Bay East Garden, is a landmark with an integrated gallery and gardens experience. This Assistant Director role drives and manages development work on project management, sustainability and smart technology adoption and implementation, supporting the Memorial's vision. You will work closely with stakeholders, consultants and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Project Director and team to drive progress and delivery, especially on interfacing matters, and lead user/partner interfacing planning and discussions with internal and external stakeholders, including drafting MOUs and service agreements and resolving issues.
• Identify and implement smart technologies and innovative solutions with internal stakeholders, partners and consultants to improve building operational efficiency and visitor experience, exploring options before and after opening.
• Collaborate with design consultants on sustainability initiatives and implementation plans, and explore longer-term operational sustainability strategies on energy use and waste management to reduce the carbon footprint.
• Work with partners on possible collective energy neutrality goals, and lead a divisional study of sustainability and innovation opportunities through case studies, market research and data analysis.
• Keep abreast of market trends in the heritage industry and handle administrative matters supporting the project and team.

Required profile

• Background in Project Management or Engineering, preferably in electrical or environmental sustainability or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in project management, sustainable development, environmental management, environmental studies and/or smart technology.
• Able to manage multiple stakeholders, consultants and contractors independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, organisational, analytical and interpersonal skills, with good teamwork and multitasking abilities.

Required skills

• Passion for smart technologies and sustainability, with a proactive approach to applying them in the built environment.
• Experience with the Singapore Green Mark Code (Green Mark Manager preferred).
